Mr. Carroll, who will report to CTO Shawn Samuel, will be responsible for the technology architecture of the firm\u2019s SaaS-based platform. He is LiquidityBook\u2019s third major hire in as many months, joining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liquiditybook.com\/liquiditybook-adds-industry-veteran-les-vital-as-head-of-technical-sales-as-demand-for-its-poems-platform-grows\/\">Head of Technical Sales Les Vital<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liquiditybook.com\/liquiditybook-adds-nicholas-thompson-as-european-client-base-grows\/\">EMEA Client Services Manager Nicholas Thompson<\/a>, both of whom joined from Eze Software Group.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Carroll is a highly respected technologist who brings over 30 years of experience across the industry. He joins LiquidityBook from Twitter, where he was a staff software engineer in the firm\u2019s Live Video group, serving as the tech lead on the project to live-stream the NFL\u2019s Thursday Night Football games during the 2016 season. He joined Twitter as part of its acquisition of social TV analytics firm BlueFin Labs, where he served as a tech lead. Prior to BlueFin he held multiple senior engineering, development and architecture roles for firms including aPriori, i2 Technologies, and Voice Control Systems. Mr. Carroll began his career in Sydney developing financial software, including a system that used speech recognition technology to capture the bid\/ask quotes that were broadcast on the Sydney Futures Exchange\u2019s floor.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Mr. Carroll\u2019s appointment, Mr. Samuel said: \u201cFlexibility and scalability are crucial to the ongoing success of our product, which makes the Chief Architect role one of the most critical in our technology organization. Andy has spent decades working with firms across the technology spectrum, and brings an impressive level of experience, know-how and capability to LiquidityBook.
